All in 8 days and 7 nights, starting and ending in the city of San José. In Costa Rica, everything is green and alive.

Itinerary

Day 1  San José City
Pick up at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Free afternoon.


Day 2  San José City tour and Volcan Poas
Explore the city while enjoying a nice walking at downtown. In the afternoon we will go visit the National Park Volcan Poas. Overnight is in San José.


Day 3  Tortuguero
We will take a boat to the beautiful National Park of Tortuguero and spend the night over there.


Day 4  Free day at Tortugero
Today we will get a free day to enjoy the beauties and activities that Tortuguero offers, such as watch the turtles laying eggs or eggs hatching, explore the canal, bird watching and fishing. We spend the night in Arenal.


Day 5  Visit Arenal Volcano
On our tour of this day we will go to Arenal Volcano National Park which has two volcanoes; Volcano Arenal and Chato Volcano, the latter, inactive since 3,500 years ago.


Day 6  Manuel Antonio National Park
Early in the morning we will visit the Manuel Antonio National Park with its beautiful beaches and wild nature, where we spend the night.


Day 7  Manuel Antonio National Park
This day we will have free time to explore the biodiversity of this beautiful natural park. In the afternoon we returned to San Jose to relax and get some rest.


Day 8  Departure Day
Time to say good bye and departure!

  • Day 1 - Pick up at San José Airport (Overnight San José)

    Pick up at the Juan Santamaría International Airport and transfer to Hotel. Free afternoon.


  • Day 2 - San José City tour and Volcan Poas (Overnight San José)

    We start by picking you up at your hotels lobby in the morning and head to “Plaza de la Cultura”; this plaza is in the heart of the city. Later we will continue to the National Park and the National Museum of Costa Rica; where you will learn all about Costa Rican history. Afterwards we will visit the National Theater and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

    At midday we’ll visit Poas Volcano. It is located on top of the central volcanic sierra. In the country, this park is the Natural Area which receives more tourism because it guards an enormous array of natural beauty.

    The volcano is active and its crater is one of the biggest in the world. Here you can walk through its paths and admire the landscapes, the numerous bird species and the other impressive creatures that exists within.

    Poas Volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles.

     


  • Day 3 - Tortuguero (Overnight Tortugero)

    Located in the north east of Costa Rica touching the Caribbean, it is one of the most important places known worldwide for practicing ecotourism and for many kinds of turtles to lay its eggs on the shore.

    Paradisiacal destination with its multiple and beautiful canals, rivers, beaches and lakes, the wildlife that the area holds its very diverse, there are big populations of monkeys, birds and fish, you can also find frogs, bats, sloths and jaguars, among many others.

    Tortuguero is one of the most varied parks boasting high rainforests to marshy lands, long stretches of beach, wide open canals perfect for crocodile spotting, and is one of the MOST important breeding grounds for the Green Sea Turtle.

     


  • Day 4 - Free day at Tortugero (Overnight at Arenal)

    Today you will get a free day to enjoy of your hotel and the beach. Tortuguero offers a variety of activities.

    An absolutely awesome experience is to visit the nesting beaches at night with a guide and watch the turtles laying eggs or eggs hatching.

    The park also offers various trails great for wildlife viewing and bird watching. Also popular here are fishing and sports fishing tours as well as the zip line and suspension bridges.

    canoe-kayak Rent a canoe or Kayak and go exploring on the canal where you’ll be able to spot creatures such as the caimans, birds, and crocodiles.

     


  • Day 5 - Visit Arenal Volcano (Overnight Arenal)

    Our Arenal Volcano tour begins early in the morning when our Achiote Road’s guide picks you up in your hotel.- The most impressive feature of this rainforest Park is the Arenal Volcano, with breathtaking views. Around in its principal area there are many activities one can practice like, rafting, hiking and rappelling.

    Its fauna is composed by sloths, deers, snakes, monkeys; and regarding the fauna you can observe palms, orchids and laurel.

    When you reach the park, experience the thundering Arenal Volcano from a safe viewing area. Since a major eruption in 1968, this stratovolcano has been one of the most active in Costa Rica, with mild and nearly continuous explosive activity from the conical crater, whose summit reaches an elevation of 5,436 feet (1,657 meters).

    As you watch for any lava flows, clouds of smoke or ash, your guide will share information about the park’s thermal features.


  • Day 6 - Manuel Antonio Natural Park (Overnight Manuel Antonio)

    Manuel Antonio is one of only two locations in Costa Rica where you can see all four types of monkey; spider, howler, white faced and the endangered squirrel monkey, many of which can be visible from your hotel window. This park is located in the Pacific Coast, it has white sands and green dense vegetation and it is surrounded by huge mountains.

    Even though it is one of the smaller natural areas in Costa Rica it still holds extraordinary biodiversity and it is visited by many people because its easy access. Here, you can enjoy the wide variety of activities such as swimming, hiking, surfing, or simply relaxing while watching a vibrant sunset.

    Between the main town and the national park, there are several world-class beaches. You can swim, hike, surf, or simply relax while watching a vibrant sunset.

     


  • Day 7 - Manuel Antonio Natural Park (Overnight San José)

    Enjoy a free day in Manuel Antonio Natural Park. You can explore its wild nature and beautiful beaches. Then is time to return to San José and enjoy of your last night in this country.


  • Day 8 - Departure Day

    After several days in paradise, is time to go back home. Take a ride in our bus to the San José Airport. Good-bye Costa Rica!
